Overview Graebener® pipe bending presses ensure a highly flexible and economic production of LSAW pipes and special pipes even with increased wall thickness and small diameters. The special feature of our internationally proven technology is the increased stroke of the bending sword. The stroke is selected in a way that the bending sword can be pulled out of the pipe completely. After the bending process the remaining gap of the open seam pipe can be pushed together by means of the bending sword. Overview In the production of LSAW pipes and pipe sections, the Graebener® pre-bending presses carry out the first bending step of the steel plates. The plate edges are pre-bent prior to the downstream bending process so that the straight plate ends of bent pipes are reduced to a minimum. Based on our many years of experience as former manufacturer of LSAW pipes we offer customized pre-bending solutions as custom machine builder. Depending on the type of application and your individual requirements we use two different methods of pre-bending: in case of plates with a wall thickness of 150 mm both plate edges are pre-bent subsequently over the entire plate width. Overview During the production of large LSAW pipes a gap remains between the longitudinal edges of the bent plate. Using your Graebener® continuous root tacking machine you can close this gap accurately by pushing together the longitudinal edges. This way, the tacking lay can be optimally introduced to the open seam pipe in a subsequent process. Graebener® continuous root tacking machines are ideally suited for pipe diameters up to 84 (2,134 mm) at a pipe length of up to 18 meters. The pipe is passed through the machine in a continuous process being guiding by pressure rolls in all four directions. The top rolls are located in a roller cage and can be adjusted like the lateral rolls for a precise guidance of the open seam pipe. Further, during the entire process, the welding gap is scanned by means of a 2D laser scanner. This way we guarantee an ideal positioning of the welding head to the welding gap and thus a constant tacking lay as an optimum basis for the subsequent submerged arc welding processes.
